LEARN FROM THREE INDUSTRY EXPERTS
This 4-part webinar series focuses on the phases of emergency management: Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery.
Utilizing an all-hazards approach helps organizations be flexible and focus on capabilities that are critical to preparedness for a full spectrum of emergencies or disasters. As severe weather season approaches, it is important to recognize that each type of hazard has unique characteristics, yet common elements. Rather than managing planning initiatives for a multitude of threat scenarios, the all-hazards approach can simplify and optimize your planning and preparedness.
Preparedness is defined by DHS/FEMA as "a continuous cycle of planning, organizing, training, equipping, exercising, evaluating, and taking corrective action in an effort to ensure effective coordination during incident response." While preparing for activations is important, many emergency managers also focus their efforts informing residents and businesses in case of a critical event or disaster within their community.
Join us as we discuss various preparedness techniques and common preparedness actions, including:
- Implementing communication templates before critical events occur
- Creating a network effect to ensure stakeholders receive critical information
- Including technology within the integrated preparedness cycle
- Preparing and identifying roles and responsibilities for EOC activation
