Chris Bolton is a 16-year veteran of the Oakland Police Department where he currently serves as a Lieutenant of Police commanding the Department’s Office of Inspector General. During past assignments to the Office of Chief of Police and the Department’s Patrol Division, Lt. Bolton piloted the use of law enforcement social media as an integral component of problem oriented policing, neighborhood crime prevention and public information strategies. The community feedback and results demonstrated success in achieving the Department’s mission: communities where people can live, work and play free from crime and the fear of crime.
