Steve has written or improved many corporation and government agency BCP, DRP, and crisis communications plans and procedures. He has trained all levels of response staff, from CEO’s on down. His specialty is realistic drills and exercises for clients worldwide. Steve also mentors BCP professionals to improve their programs and their careers.
Prior to joining MIT, Ms. Blake was a Senior Emergency Management Consultant with Witt O’Brien’s, an emergency management consulting firm founded by former Director of FEMA James Lee Witt. Ms. Blake served as the company’s Higher Education Specialist, and spent six years traveling across the country assisting high education institutions with their emergency management and business continuity programs including plans, processes, procedures, training, exercises, and post-incident assessments. Prior to joining Witt O’Brien’s, Ms. Blake served as the Emergency Manager for the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW). As the first individual in this position, she had the opportunity to spearhead a university emergency management program from its inception.
