In 2020, the Asia-Pacific region was beset by natural disasters that included flooding, typhoons, cyclones, and bushfires. Other disruptions in the region have included geopolitical tensions in countries like Myanmar, terrorist attacks in countries like the Philippines, and protest movements in Hong Kong.

This presentation will provide an overview of issues that affected the region last year and the potential for some events to continue or recur in 2021. It will also include a brief discussion of security risks that are likely to increase as the COVID-19 pandemic begins to recede over the course of the year.
