According to the World Health Organization (WHO), at least 221,648,869 cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed worldwide. The global death toll has risen to at least 4,582,338.
This week, the WHO indicated a decline in the number of new cases being reported except for the Americas, which saw an increase of 19 percent. There was a decline in the number of new deaths being reported except for the Americas and Europe, which saw increases of 17 percent and 20 percent, respectively.
