Our speakers, Liberty Day, Training Manager and Holly Roberts, Program Manager at The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START), a DHS Center of Excellence at the University of Maryland will cover research on risk and crisis communications. The presentation will feature material provided in their Training in Risk and Crisis Communication (TRACC) curriculum, including current case studies and best practices.

Holly Roberts is the Program Manager for the Risk Communication and Resilience Program at START and manages the Training in Risk and Crisis Communication (TRACC) program. Her research interests include organizational communication, risk and crisis communication, social media, natural disasters, reputation management and health crises. In addition to research, Roberts has taught a variety of college-level courses and currently teaches Oral Communication for National Security Careers at the University of Maryland.

Liberty Day is the Training Manager at START. She assists START efforts to develop a broader training capacity that focuses on making START faculty research findings accessible to policy-makers and practitioners. Liberty is primarily responsible for overseeing curriculum development, training delivery, and program management.
